The largest insect vertical farm in the world in Poulainville (France)

10/11/2019

The Ÿnfarm project is an original complex that includes both a vertical farm where the Molitor beetles will be raised and a food processing plant that will allow the production of high-end, sustainable and natural ingredients offering unique health benefits in terms of growth and performance for animals and plants.

Ultimately, ŸnFarm, the world’s largest vertical farm, will produce around 100,000t/year of ingredients with two flagship products, ŸnMeal, a premium insect protein meal intended mainly for farmed fish and domestic animals, and ŸnFrass, a premium fertilizer based on insects’ dejections. These products are obtained from a type of beetle, Tenebrio Molitor, selected for its high nutritional qualities and its adaptation to automated vertical farm technology.

Launched on March 16 in Poulainville (Somme, France), the Ÿnfarm construction site continues its momentum: earthworks and roadworks are making good progresses! We warmly thank the teams who worked hard in a restrictive health context, to meet tight deadlines.

Next step: the foundation stone laying ceremony in October 2020, with a scheduled start of production in early 2022!
