  • #Ÿnsecter – Portrait of Anne-Mathilde Bobert, Purchaser at Ÿnsect

Discover the portrait of Anne-Mathilde, the purchaser thirsting for big projects

« My journey has been rather unusual » says Anne-Mathilde, referring to her various professional experiences. « Originally, I was a sensory engineer, in charge of expert and consumer panels where I trained people in tasting products ». After completing a Masters degree in science and technology, taste and environment, Anne-Mathilde worked for many years at a tobacco company. « I wanted to change my environment after 13 years, so I went back to school to get a master’s degree in purchasing at ESSEC ». She then joined Danone for 6 months.

« What I missed at Danone was that I had no passion for the products. I was coming from tobacco and I wanted to work for a company to defend ». Anne-Mathilde learned about Ÿnsect on LinkedIn where she saw a job offer. But unfortunately she applied too late. « First I applied too late, then I am offered a consulting job, which I didn’t want but then when the OPEX buyer resigned, I finally got the job of my dreams ! »

At first, Anne-Mathilde struggled to find her place in the Ÿnsecters’ family because she found the company disruptive : « It’s never been seen before, it’s a crazy project ! ». Now, within the company, she holds the position of OPEX buyer ; specialising in consumables where she is in charge of purchases of all kinds, from insect food to intellectual services, including all services and subcontracting.. In order to do her job, she believes it is imperative to listen « you have to understand the expectations of customers who are also your colleagues, but you also have to be proactive in anticipating their needs ».

« What I like most is being able to help the Ynsecters who help the world ! My days are never the same ». Among Ynsect’s values, Anne-Mathilde identifies with the exploratory aspect : « That sums up the job of the buyer. We explore, we look for new suppliers and we look for new products ».
